John T. Chumar
TRENTON John T. "Jack" Chumar Sr. died Saturday at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton. He was 76.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong resident. He retired from Kalex in the Yardville section of Hamilton.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in the Korean War. Mr. Chumar was a member of the Slovak Community Home and St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to the New Jersey shore and trips to Atlantic City.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Zeyack Chumar; his children, John Jr. and Sonia Chumar of Florence, Lynda and Kevin Brannon of Hamilton, and Robert Chumar of Trenton; his grandson, Jacob Brannon; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, the Rev. John Zeyack of Ukraine, Albert and Awatif Zeyack of Levittown, Pa., Mary Zeyack of Lawrence and Bernice and William Terwilliger of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral was Wednesday at Kutch Funeral Home, Trenton.
A Requiem Liturgy was celebrated Wednesday at St. Basil’s Romanian Catholic Church, Trenton.
Burial was in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery No. 3 in Hamilton.
