Danielle M. Kupper
Miss Kupper, 29, of Union Beach, died April 7 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in New Brunswick, she resided in Metuchen prior to moving to Union Beach 25 years ago. She attended Harbor School, Eatontown. She is survived by her parents, Virginia and Joseph Kupper of Union Beach; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawn and Russ Benson of Hazlet, and Stacy and Richard Post of Howell; two brothers, Marine Cpl. Joseph Kupper, and James Kupper, both of Union Beach; her grandmother, Helen C. Kapler of Edison; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be April 12 at 10 a.m. at Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
Walter L. Sherman Sr.
Mr. Sherman, 69, of Hazlet, died April 5 at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. Born in Newark, he resided in Toms River, and the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, prior to moving to Hazlet 14 years ago. He was a truck driver at City and Suburban Newspapers, Moonachie, and was in the newspaper business for more than 40 years, retiring in 2000. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Marine Corps League Devil Dogs, and Korean War Veterans. He was also a member of American Legion Post No. 338, and Post No. 338 Police, Leonardo section of Middletown, and Marine Corps League Honor Guard. He was predeceased by his wife, Henrietta Taylor Sherman in 2005. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Kathleen Sherman Jr. of Middletown, John V. and Diane Sherman of Edison, and Michael and Laura Sherman of Brick; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
Eugene W. Greco
Mr. Greco, 83, of Union Beach, died March 29 at Bayshore Health Care Center, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in the Avenel section of Woodbridge before moving to Union Beach in 1971. He was a courtesy van driver and had previously been employed as a truck driver for IML Freight, Elizabeth. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Union Beach. He was also a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. Mr. Greco was predeceased in 1972 by his wife, Catherine Greco. He was predeceased as well by four brothers, Bill, Joe, Frank and Alfred Greco, and a sister, Dolly Hollien. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Linda Greco of Union Beach; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Catanzaro of Pennsylvania; a brother, Peter Greco of Hamilton; and a grandson, Thomas (“Tom Tom”) Greco. A funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Family Church, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, was in charge of arrangements.
Harold Stroud Miller
Mr. Miller, 57, of Edison, died April 1 at home. Born in Pittsburg, Calif., he had resided in Edison for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Miller was predeceased by his parents, Harold Stroud Miller and Adeline Bishop Miller. Surviving are five sisters, Cathy Small of East Brunswick, Nancy McFadden of Old Bridge, Janet Boutillier of Phillipsburg, Carolyn Blaylock of Virginia and Grace Kropiewnick of Delaware; a brother, David Miller of Califon; eight nieces and nephews; and seven grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services were conducted at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Burial took place at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway.
