A business owner reported someone broke into three of four locked sheds at Oak Park Firewood Company on Route 206 sometime between 4 p.m. March 20 and 9 a.m. March 25.
Nothing was reported missing, but the officer on the scene found a small hatchet and a lopper that might’ve been used to force entry into the sheds. A beer can was also found lying in the leaves between the sheds.
The sheds were dusted for prints, photographs were taken and the neighbors were contacted.

A Polhemus Drive resident reported that the rear hatch window of her 2000 Ford Explorer was shattered between the hours of 7 p.m. April 6 and 6:45 a.m. April 7.
The damage was estimated to be $200.
Because it was made of safety glass, the window shattered into very small pieces. Sifting through the shards, the officer on the scene found no evidence of what shattered the window.

Christopher Shamy, 34, of Zion Road was charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a report of an unoccupied 2000 white BMW empty on the side of the Longhill Road.
After checking the BMW for a driver, a patrolman spotted a man, Mr. Shamy, walking along Longhill Road. The patrolman detected the odor of alcohol on Mr. Shamy’s breath, police said.
A field sobriety test was administered and a Breathalyzer test was administered at the station.
Mr. Shamy is charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right and reckless driving.

Stephen P. Nash, 53, of Route 206 in Hillsborough was charged with driving withwhile intoxicated on April 8 after police stopped his 2003 red Volkswagen on Opie Road because his driver-side taillight was out.
The officer detected the scent of alcohol on his breath and Mr. Nash said he had a glass of wine at a church function in Perth Amboy, police said.
Mr. Nash failed the field sobriety test and was taken to the station for a Breathalyzer, police said. When he was unable to blow hard enough, he was issued a separate summons for refusal to submit samples of his breath.
He was also issued summons for improper maintenance of lamps.
