‘Sustainable West Windsor’ focus for commission

WEST WINDSOR —Rutgers University graduate students will present their work supporting the Sustainable West Windsor 2006 Plan at a special meeting of the Township Environmental Commission at 8 p.m. April 27.
This meeting is the second in a series of public meetings the Environmental Commission is sponsoring to inform West Windsor residents and businesses about sustainability and related municipal planning efforts. Community members are invited to offer their thoughts on the direction of this environmental planning effort.
Using the "Sustainability Planning Framework" document prepared by the Environmental Commission as a starting point, graduate students in an urban planning class at the Bloustein School of Public Policy and Planning expanded the document’s breadth and detail in the areas of land use, circulation, society, natural resources, and government. They also developed objectives, proposed indicators for tracking progress and offered recommendations for possible action.
Students in the class have worked with the township environmental commission since January, under the supervision of professors Clint Andrews, Jennifer Senick and Randy Solomon.
The April 27 meeting will take place in Room A of the township municipal building on Clarksville Road.
