Barbara Caracio

   SOLEBURY — Barbara Ann Bergmann Caracio, 61, of Solebury died April 14.
   She was born in Dover, N.J., to Charles G. and Ethel May Woolf Bergmann.
   She graduated from Montclair University with a degree in fine arts and went on to teach first grade.
   She was a member of Solebury United Methodist Church, the Harrisburg Art Association, the Audubon Society, the Honey Hollow Preserve, the National Geographic Society and the Nature Conservancy.
   She was a longtime supporter of WHYY. She was a volunteer at Doylestown Hospital and Birthright of Doylestown.
   Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Thomas D. Caracio; a son, Christopher T. Caracio, and his fiancée, Nancy; a daughter, Shannon K. Caracio, and her fiancé, David; her granddaughters, Hailey Ann Caracio and Emily Hendricks; and three brothers, Kent Bergmann, of Fayetteville, N.C., Eric Bergmann of Edgewood, Md., and Gary Bergmann of Washington, N.J.
   A life celebration were held Tuesday at the Leaver-Cable Funeral Home, Buckingham. The funeral was Wednesday at the church. Burial followed in Solebury Friends Cemetery.

Robert Smith

   JACKSON TOWNSHIP — Robert W. Smith, 64, died Monday, April 10, at Centra State Medical Center in Freehold.
   Born in Lambertville, he was a resident of Hamilton before moving to Jackson three years ago.
   Mr. Smith was retired from Terminix Pest Control.
   He was a former member of the Mercerville Fire Company and Robbins-Heights Hunting Club.
   He was the son of the late William A. and Marion E. Bertles Smith.
   Surviving are his wife, Helen Smith of Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Jay Garvey of Howell and Katherine and John Byrne of Hamilton; his son, William Smith, and fiancée, Kristin Mercer of Hamilton; a brother and sister-in-law, Walter J. and Marie Smith of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Kaileigh Byrne and Tyler and Devin Garvey; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held April 13 from the Kingston & Kemp Funeral Home, Hamilton. Cremation followed at Ewing Crematory.
David Michalak

   EWING TOWNSHIP — David Michalak, 37, died Saturday, April 8, at home.
   Born in Trenton, Mr. Michalak was a lifelong Trenton and Ewing Township resident.
   He was employed for many years at the Pennington Road Citgo service station.
   He was a 1987 graduate of Ewing High School and graduated from Antheil Elementary School.
   He was the son of the late Helen Grabowski Michalak and brother of the late Mark Michalak.
   Surviving are his father, Michael Michalak, and his wife, Irene Michalak; his niece, Cynthia Helen Michalak of Ewing Township; two sisters, Pauline Gura of Trenton and Natalie and her husband, Edward Dombrowski of Yardville; one stepbrother, Stephen F. and his wife, Colleen Kovacs of Freehold Township; two stepsisters, Elaine and her husband, Frank Trauger, of Lambertville and Kathleen Kovacs of Trenton; his sister-in-law, Lydia Michalak of Ewing Township; and many cousins and friends.
   The funeral was held April 13 from the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, North Trenton. A funeral liturgy was held in St. Hedwig’s Church with Father Albert Anuszewski presiding. Burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery, Ewing Township.

Dorothy Parent

   LAMBERTVILLE — Dorothy Mae Parent, 92, of Lambertville died Wednesday, April 12, at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township.
   Born in Trenton, Mrs. Parent was a Lambertville resident for many years.
   She was employed by the Adams Corporation in Lambertville and earlier worked at the River’s Edge Restaurant in Lambertville and at General Motors in Trenton.
   She was the daughter of the late Fred and Cassie Sinclair Cudney.
   Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John B. Parent; two sons, Bruce J. Parent of Lambertville and Keith R. Parent of Flemington; her sister, Lillian Chojnacki of Hamilton; and many nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Monday at the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville. The Rev. Judith Gehrig, pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church of Lambertville, officiated. Interment followed at the Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery, Delaware Township.

George Romine Sr.

   WINCHESTER, Va. — George L. Romine Sr., 94, of Winchester, Va., died Monday, April 10, at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury in Winchester.
   Mr. Romine was born in Stockton to Horace H. and Olive Lawshe Romine. He married Margaret Moore on Aug. 28, 1937, in Stockton.
   He attended the Pennington School, Rider College and the Georgia University of Technology.
   He moved to Winchester from Berea, Ohio, in 1973 when named president of the Friction Products Group of ABEX Corp.
   He was active in the Winchester community, serving on the boards of the F&M National Bank, the Winchester Equipment Company, Shenandoah University and the Boy Scouts.
   He was past director of the Frederick County Economic Development Council and founding chairman of the board of trustees of the Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury.
   In 1985, he was named Outstanding Citizen of the Year by the Winchester-Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.
   He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Orpheus Masonic Lodge 137 AF&AM in Stockton and the Winchester Rotary Club.
   Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George L. and June Romine Jr. of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and John H. and Cathleen Romine of Fredericksburg, Va.; a sister, Jean Hunt of Ringoes; and four grandchildren, Bradley, Michael, Megan and Kelly.
   He was the brother of the late Dorothy Hooven.
   A memorial service was held Saturday in the Abbey of Westminster Canterbury. Burial was in the SVWC Memorial Garden.
