Friday and Saturday, April 21-22 Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will hold the monthly sale from 9 a.m. to noon. Spring and summer clothing will be featured.
Car wash
Saturday, April 22 Members of the Class of 2006 at the Peter Muschal School in Bordentown will hold a car wash between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Bordentown Elks on Amboy Road. Rain date of Sunday, April 23.

Recycling buckets
Saturdays, April 22 and April 29 If you are a Bordentown City resident and wish to get a free, new recycling bucket, stop by the Bordentown City Public Works Department at Gilder Field between 8 a.m. and noon.
Stream Cleanup
Saturday, April 22 The effort continues to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Thorntown Creek stream corridor in Bordentown City and the 4th Annual Earth Day Stream Cleanup is planned.
Help clean up the City and learn about the local environment. Meet at the baseball field at the corner of Spring and Ann Streets at 9 a.m. Sturdy shoes and gloves recommended. Garbage bags provided.

Flea market fundraiser
Saturday, April 22 Bordentown City Cats will hold its 3rd annual flea market at the Carslake Community Center, Crosswicks Street.
Vendors and sellers interested in a space at the event may call 324-3896 to reserve.
Chicken barbecue
Sunday, April 23 A chicken barbecue is slated for noon at the Chesterfield Fire House. Takeout orders will be available. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5 through 12.
School registration
Tuesday, April 25 The New Hanover Township School, Fort Dix and Shreve, Wrightstown, will hold pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration for its full-day programs April 25 and Tuesday, May 9.
Pre-kindergartners must be 4 on or before Sept. 30 while Kindergartners must be 5 on or before Sept. 30. Parents must call the school at 723-2139 after April 18 and make an appointment to register their pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students.
Children must be present for registration. Birth certificate and immunization records plus proof of residency required at registration.
Ladies Night Out
Friday, April 28 St. Mary’s School invites the public to the 2nd annual "Ladies Night Out: A Chocolate Lovers’ Delight" event from 7 to 9 p.m. at the school on Elizabeth Street, Bordentown. The event is a PTA fundraiser. Admission costs $5 and includes door prize, goodie bag, unlimited chocolate desserts, coffee and tea.
Gourmet sandwiches from Park Street Cafe will be sold. Share a night of shopping and chocolate. Pampered Chef, Southern Living at Home, massages, Mary Kay, Creative Memories and other vendors will be featured.
Tot Shabbat
Friday, April 28 Tot Shabbat service offered monthly at Temple B’Nai Abraham, 58 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown (www.bnai-abraham.org).
Open to all children ages 1-6 and their families. A potluck dinner, child friendly Shabbat service, story and craft from 6 to 7:30 p.m. featured. Admission is free, RSVP required. For more information or to reserve a spot, call 298-1527.

smorgasboard dinner
Saturday, April 29 The Lend-A-Hand Society of the First Baptist Church, Prince and Church streets, Bordentown, will hold the annual family-style dinner from 2:30 to 7 p.m.
Roast beef, sausage, mashed potatoes, chicken and noodles, various side dishes and desserts will be featured. Children ages 5-12 eat for $5.25, adults eat for $13 and senior citizens (62+) eat for $11.

Senior Citizen Prom
Saturday, April 29 Northern Burlington Parents Teacher Student Connection will sponsor the 2nd annual Senior Citizen Prom at the NBC Middle School from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Pasta dinner, music, entertainment, door prizes and fun will be featured. Several school groups will participate in the festivities, and a king and queen will be chosen.
Local seniors 55 and older are invited to call 298-3900, ext. 2031 to reserve complimentary tickets.
Spaghetti dinner
Saturday, April 29 An all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner featuring bread, butter, salad, iced tea and ice cream will take place at the Crosswicks Fire House, New Street, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Tickets will be sold at the door for adults ($8) and children ages 6-12 ($5). Takeout orders cost $9. Call 298-3111 for more details.
Arbor Day planting
Saturday, April 29 Volunteers are needed to help plant shade trees in Bordentown City. Meet at City Hall at 9 a.m. Bring a shovel if you have one. The Bordentown Shade Tree Committee is the event sponsor.
Barbecue Cook-off
Sunday, April 30 Food from local restaurants including the new Chickie and Pete’s in Bordentown Township, games for all ages and a 50/50 raffle with a large grand prize and gift certificates for area restaurants and stores will be part of the Bordentown Regional High School’s Student Council-sponsored Barbecue Cook-off from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
A backyard barbecue competition for anyone willing to bring their own grill and show off their grilling talents is planned at Joe Lawrence Park at 323 Ward Ave., Bordentown, next to PeterMuschal Elementary School.
Sunday buffet
Sunday, April 30 Roebling’s American Legion Post 39 will hold a buffet breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to noon at 112 4th Ave., Roebling. The menu includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, home fries, military-style beef on toast, bacon, sausage, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice.
Tickets cost $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $4 for children 5-12, and free for children under 5.
Clothing drive
Sunday, April 30 It’s time again for the Crosswicks Venturing Crew 55 semi-annual clothing drive to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chesterfield Municipal Building parking lot.
Donated clothes will go to needy families across Eastern Europe and South America. For individual pickup or more information, call 298-8463.

Wednesday, May 3 Trinity United Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will hold a soup sale.

Shrimp nite
Friday, May 5 American Legion Post 39 of Roebling is holding Shrimp Nite, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Post home, 112 4th Ave., Roebling. "You peel" shrimp, homemade potato salad, coleslaw, coffee and dessert are all included for $10. Meatball platters are $7. Take-outs are available.
Open Space planting
Saturday, May 6 Come help us plant 150 tree seedlings as part of the reforestation of this new parkland in Bordentown City. Meet at the corner of Oliver Street and W. Chestnut Street at 9 a.m.

Atlantic City trip
Sunday, May 7 The Knights of Columbus 570 will sponsor a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Departure from St. Mary’s Church, Elizabeth Street, Bordentown, at 4:30 p.m. for a 4-hour stay at the casino.

Widows and Widowers
Sunday, May 7 New members are invited to join in the fun at the monthly social of WOWS, Widows and Widowers of Burlington County, 7 p.m., at the Korean Presbyterian Church, 147 Route 130 North, Bordentown. Ballroom dancing takes place the first Sunday evening of each month.
The WOWS of Burlington County is a social club formed several years ago for persons who have suffered the loss of a marriage partner by death. All persons, irrespective of race, color, creed or ethnic origin, are welcome to participate in the varied social activities of the club, including the weekly and monthly ballroom dancing at various venues.

Hadassah luncheon
Tuesday, May 9 Burlington County Chapter of Hadassah will hold its annual donor luncheon at noon at Olde York Country Club, Old York Road, Chesterfield.
Saundra Meissinger, cantorial soloist of Adath Emanu-El, Mt. Laurel, will provide musical entertainment. Doris Paster, a charter member of the chapter, will install the slate of officers for 2006-07. Call 324-0618 for details.
Gift basket auction
Friday, May 12 St. Mary’s School of Bordentown will sponsor its annual gift basket auction at Carslake Community Center, Crosswicks Street, in Bordentown City.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the drawings to begin promptly at 7 p.m. There is a $6 admission fee at the door which includes one sheet of tickets and a door prize ticket. A 50/50 raffle is slated as well as an all-new grand prize raffle.
Additional tickets varying in price will also be available for purchase. Food and desserts will be available. No one under 18 will be admitted.
Project Mom
Friday to Sunday, May 12-14 Constance Wilder-Wokoun and Ken Britschge have announced that their original 2-act play, "Project Mom," will be presented at Riverview Studios, Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown. Annual golf tourney
Monday, May 15 The Chesterfield Public Education Fund will sponsor its 10th annual golf tournament at the Olde York Country Club at noon with a shotgun tee-off.
The entry fee is $150 per golfer including greens fees, cart, boxed lunch and a dinner reception. Awards will be presented and an auction will be held after the dinner reception. The featured auction item is a 2006 Membership to Olde York Country Club. Non-golfers can participate in the dinner and auction for $45.
The organization is also accepting donations for the live auction. All proceeds will benefit the students of the Chesterfield Elementary School. To register or participate, call Lynn Peterson-Quinn at 324-0696.

Friday, May 19 The Beef and Beer fundraiser for the Lady Flashes will be held at 7 p.m. at Wesley’s Pub in Roebling. Tickets cost $20 and they can be bought at Wesley’s or by calling 499-3023.
