Indie flick: The Lawrence Library invites the public to the latest installment of the @ Your Library independent film series "Forrest for the Trees."
The move will start at 7 p.m. at the library, 2751 Brunswick Pike.
Bursting with idealism, Melanie Proschle, a young teacher from the countryside, starts her first job at a high school in the city. Despite her high expectations Melanie discovers that teaching is a difficult and discouraging job.

Operation Smile auction: The seventh annual Operation Smile Youth Auction starts at 6 p.m. at Lawrence High School.
The silent auction will run from 6 to 8 p.m. and the live auction kicks off at 8:30 p.m.
Lots of great food, family fun and fantastic bargains all proceeds to benefit the Operation Smile Student association of Lawrence, Hopewell and Princeton high schools. The event raises money for Operation Smile, which fund medical and dental operation for children in impoverished nations.
Family bid card costs $5. Major credit cards will be accepted.

Earth Day celebration: Mercer County invites residents to an Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mercer County Park ice skating rink in West Windsor.
The free event includes prizes and games, environmental exhibits, the Liberty Science Center Travelling Science Project, Howell Living Farm’s "Barnyard Bingo," the Garden State Discovery Museum’s bubble tower and much more.
New activities this year include a catch-and- release tank and free documents shredding.

Political button show: The third annual political memorabilia exhibit and show will be held at the Titusville United Methodist Church in the Titusville section of Hopewell Township from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The show is sponsored by the American Political Items Collectors.
More than 100 collectors from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and beyond will meet to offer items for sale or trade and to display political-campaign items from their own collections.
The Titusville United Methodist Church is located at the corner of River Road (Route 29) and Church Road in Titusville. The button show will be held in the church’s educational building.
Parking is free. Admission to the event will be $3 for adults; children under 12 will be free.
Free appraisals will be offered for all political items brought in and items may also be put up for auction, with a commission rate of 10 percent.

Flight fair: The public is invited to see the region from a new perspective soaring above Mercer County at Mercer County Community College’s Flight Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is Sunday.
Members of the college’s Aviation faculty will offer small plane rides, taking off from the college’s hangar at Trenton-Mercer Airport. The cost is 20 cents per pound (weights are kept secret), with a minimum charge of $8 and a maximum of $22 per person.
Proceeds will benefit the college’s Flight Team.
The Trenton-Mercer Airport is in Ewing. Take I-95 to the Scotch Road exit, follow the signs to Ronson Aviation. The college’s hangar is down the road to the right of Ronson. Call (609) 530-1272

Celebrate the Earth: The Lawrence Nature Center invites the public for a free Earth Day celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. at the center, off Drexel Avenue. A naturalist will lead a guided tour titled "Signs of Spring." Children may participate in a nature treasure hunt and receive a free tree seedling.
Parking is available at Notre Dame High School.
Spring festival: The Law- renceville Baha’i community invites the public to its Spring Festival, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lanning School, 1925 Pennington Road (Route 31), Ewing.
The free festival, held at the Mercer County Baha’i Community Sunday School, will feature Daria, an internationally recognized folksinger who will present a special interactive concert for children and families. There will also be a devotional presentation, a free lunch and games and prizes for kids.
The Sunday school holds classes for children and adults, based upon the Baha’i belief in world unity. The classes stress character building and an exploration of such principles as a love for all humanity and religions, freedom from all prejudice, world peace and the equality of women and men. This festival celebrates the Baha’i’s most holy day, Ridvan, and way to meet neighbors and introduce the Sunday school to the wider community.

Farmers market: The Lawrenceville Main Street Farmers Market is one of the organizers of a "Spring Market" to be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tre Piani Restaurant in Plainsboro’s Forrestal Village.
The event will feature many of Lawrenceville Main Street Farmers Market vendors, including the Village Bakery, Terhune Orchards, Griggstown Quail Farm, and Valley Shepherd Creamery, as well as other local food vendors.
In addition, there will be live music by Straight Jazz and cooking demonstrations throughout the day, starting at 11:30 a.m.

‘Seniors on the move’: The Greater Mercer Transportation Management Authority invites the public to a brown bag lunch forum to learn about a new transportation program, INTGREATMERCER, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Princeton Senior Resource Center in the Suzanne Patterson Senior Center, Monument Drive, Princeton Borough.
