Betty Jean Stires, 78, died on Feb. 14.
Born in Harbourton, she had been a resident of the area all her life.
She was member of Gothic Chapter, Eastern Star, of Pennington and a long-standing member of Pennington Grange No 64, NJ State Grange and Pomona Grange.
Daughter of the late Helen and George Hart, and sister of the late Robert Hart, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earl D. Stires, Jr.; four sons, Daniel and his wife Kathryn of Titusville, George of Titusville, Roy and his wife Linda of Ewing and Wayne and his wife Sarah of Ewing; a daughter Lynn and her husband, Scott Davidson of McAllister, Mont.; seven grandchildren, Steven and his wife Debra Stires, Beth and her husband Brad Smith, Matthew and Amy Stires, Layla and her husband, James Gummel, Justin and Christopher Stires; a great-granddaughter Jewelya Stires; and a great-grandson James Smith.
Graveside services will be held on April 29 at 11 a.m. in Harbourton Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the directions of the Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington.
