MARLBORO – The Marlboro Players will perform the dramatic story of good vs. evil with their spring production of “Jekyll and Hyde.” The gothic musical will performed at the Marlboro Middle School, Route 520, on May 5, 6, 12 and 13 at 8 p.m. and on May 7 at 3 p.m.
Dr. Henry Jekyll, played by Robert M. Tilley, of Belle Mead, pursuing his lifelong quest, endeavors to separate the two natures of man. When Jekyll begins to experiment with his formula on himself, the results are shocking.
The evil nature of Dr. Jekyll surfaces as a separate identity, Edward Hyde. Hyde begins murdering members of the Board of Governors, who previously refused to assist in Jekyll’s cause.
At the same time, Jekyll fights in vain to keep his darker half under control. Caught in a cross-fire of this internal struggle are Jekyll’s fiance Emma Carew, played by Alison Endee, of Hoboken; her father, Sir Danvers, played by Paul Starkey, of Red Bank; Jekyll’s best friend, John Utterson, played by Christopher Pica, of Tinton Falls; and a prostitute named Lucy, played by Kathryn Comiciotto, of Belle Mead.
The play is directed by Mark Ilardi.
