FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – The Board of Education at its meeting April 18 voted 8-0 to approve the following attendance area revisions effective with the start of the 2006-07 school year.
Students who live on the following streets who would have previously attended the Barkalow Middle School, Still-wells Corner Road, will instead attend the Eis-enhower Middle School, Burlington Road (with the exceptions noted below):
Acorn Court, Atlanta Court, Austin Court, Augusta Court, Barnstable Court, Boise Court, Corral Court, Creamery Court, Dairy Court, Dell Court, Gaitway Court, Hatchery Court, Ice House Court, Pepperidge Court, Plowman’s Court, Portland Court, Providence Court, Phoenix Court, Sacramento Court, Seattle Court, Strickland Court, Sodahouse Court, Scarecrow Court, Smoke House Court, Strawberry Patch Court, Wagon Wheel Court and Weathervane Lane.
According to a district spokeswoman, students who live on those streets who presently attend Barkalow will be given the choice of staying at Barkalow or transferring to Eisenhower.
Pupils who live on those streets who will enter the sixth grade in September will go to Eisenhower unless they have a sibling who presently attends Barkalow. In that case the sixth-grader will have the choice of attending Barkalow or Eisenhower.
The board also accepted the resignation of the following staff members, all effective on June 30: Robyn Emerman, a teacher at Barkalow; Karen W. Talerico, a teacher at Eisenhower and Barkalow; Vanessa Majsztrik, a teacher at the Early Childhood Learning Center; Nicholas Garnett, a teacher at Eisenhower; Jean E. Totin, a teacher at Eisenhower and Barkalow; Beth M. Hughes, a teacher at the Errickson School; and Christine Gloth, a teacher at the West Freehold School.
The board approved a change in assignment for Kristin Pschorr, who is an assistant principal at the Applegate and West Freehold schools this year. Beginning July 1, Pschorr will be the assistant principal at the Early Child-hood Learning Center.
The retirement of Patricia Dalm-Moreland, a learning disabilities teacher consultant, was accepted by the board.
