Not five years ago the towers fell and already the entertainment business seeks to profit. Innocent lives were lost, hearts were broken, and Hollywood smiles – it’s a gold mine.
America’s pop culture is miserably failing us.
We make films full of bathroom humor. We exploit tragedy for thousands of dollars. Gore, violence, murder, not to mention obscenities, crowd the stage.
Now, it seems, we will pay them to open healing emotional wounds of people across the nation. Why?
What parent wants their child to learn of that day from a commercial, especially one sandwiched among others for toys and cartoons? What lover wants to relive the day their partner died?
Worst of all is that Hollywood expects to profit. I suppose America’s pop culture also approves of hit men. Making money off people’s deaths is now acceptable.
