The “Speaking of Art” series hosted by the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts in Long Branch will present “Curator and Artist: Wearing Two Hats!” on Friday at 7 p.m. The panel discussion coincides with the new exhibit, “Artists Curating ArtistS: Two very different similar exhibitions.” Curator/artists Chris Chambers and Pamela Marchin and other participants will discuss their dual exhibitions – “Transmutations” and “Plastic Fantastic.” The panel will focus on how an artist’s work can influence their curatorial decisions and, how the shows they curate might influence their artwork.

The Art Society of Monmouth County will present its annual Members Show May 1-25 at the Little Silver Library on Prospect Avenue behind borough hall. Brookdale Community College in Lincroft will host the 11th Evening of International Poetry on Wednesday, May 3. The free event will be held in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Experimental Theater from 7-9:30 p.m. Gloria Rovder Healy, Shrewsbury, editor of anthologies of poetry about Monmouth and Ocean County, is being honored for her role as poetry advocate. The poetry performances will feature poems read in Russian, Polish, French, Greek, Hebrew, Bengali with accompanying translations. Two River Theater Company will present “What The Butler Saw” by British playwright Joe Orton, a hilarious face that pokes fun at sex, authority, family relationships and the world of psychoanalysis.
