PISCATAWAY Kris M. Korsun died April 20 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 61.
Born in Newark, he lived in Raritan and Manville before moving to Piscataway 29 years ago.
Mr. Korsun was a police officer for Hillsborough Township for 26 years, retiring as corporal in 1996. After his retirement, he worked in the mailroom of QualCare in Piscataway.
He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1965-1968. He was a paratrooper and was the recipient of the Parachutist Badge Expert M-1 and M-14 rifle and 2nd class Gunner.
Survivors include his wife, Christine (Evancho) Korsun; four sons, Scott M. of Hillsborough, Brian R. of Richmond, Va., Keith G. of Bridgewater and David S. of Plantation, Fla.; four grandchildren; a godchild; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service was conducted April 24 from Bridgewater Funeral Home in Bridgewater, followed by a Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Burial, with military honors, was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
