Richard White-Engle, 39, of North Brunswick was charged with driving while intoxicated after a patrolman stopped him for an improper turn on Route 206 at 1:35 a.m. April 17.
The patrolman observed a 2000 silver Volkswagen change from the right to the center lane. When the light turned green, the vehicle made a left turn onto Route 206 and the patrolman stopped the vehicle. The officer detected a strong odor of alcohol while Mr. White-Engle was producing his license, and asked him to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Mr. White-Engle was administered a Breathalyzer test at the station and his blood alcohol level was determined to be 0.16 percent (the legal limit is 0.08).
He was charged with driving while intoxicated and making an improper turn on a marked course.

Phillip Geiger, 22, of Deanna Drive was charged with possession of marijuana after an officer stopped the car he was travelling in at 11:20 a.m. April 10 because the driver’s-side brake light was out.
When questioned, Mr. Geiger said that he had marijuana, which the officer confiscated.
A test of the joint and the roaches with an NIK test kit was positive for marijuana, police said.
Mr. Geiger was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with failure to maintain vehicle lights.

Abhinaba Barthakur, 39, of Fisher Drive was charged with driving while intoxicated after a collision with a Toyota minivan left his 2001 Honda Odyssey on its side at 9:22 p.m. April 17.
When an officer arrived at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Willow and Homestead roads, he approached both Mr. Barthakur and the driver of the Toyota to make sure no one was injured. Both replied that they were uninjured.
The officer detected an odor of alcohol and asked Mr. Barthakur how many drinks he had. The officer administered a field sobriety test, which Mr. Barthakur failed.
Mr. Barthakur was taken into custody. At police headquarters, he was administered a Breathalyzer test which showed a BAC of 0.13 percent.
Mr. Barthakur was charged with driving while intoxicated and careless driving.

A Styras Japanese maple tree was reported stolen from the front lawn of a Toll Brothers model home on Frey Road between 5 p.m. on April 19 and 8 a.m. on April 20. The tree was valued at $250.
