Red Molly to perform in bluegrass concert

The Old Bridge Public Library will present a concert of bluegrass music with Red Molly beginning at 1:30 p.m. on April 29 at the library’s main branch, Route 516 and Cottrell Road.

Red Molly, an all-female trio combining the talents of Laurie MacAllister, Abbie Gardner and Carolann Solebello, weaves vocal harmony over a myriad of string instruments including guitar, banjo, mandolin and dobro. The trio’s repertoire ranges from Appalachian ballads to 20th-century pop and country standards and contemporary folk.

Admission is free of charge. Registration is not required.

Junior Police Academy

The Spotswood Police Department is distributing applications for its Junior Police Academy planned for July 17-21 at Spotswood High School, Summerhill Road. Boys and girls entering grades 9-12 in the fall are invited to participate.

The weeklong academy will cover life skills, crime-scene investigation, fitness, motivation and many other topics.

flea market/craft show

Vendors are sought for the Immaculate Conception Knights of Columbus Council No. 4907 Columbiettes Flea Market/Craft Show set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13 in the Immaculate Conception Church parking lot, Manalapan Road, Spotswood. The event will be held rain or shine.

Eating-disorders group

to meet at E.B. Library

The Eating Disorder Association of New Jersey holds a monthly support group from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the second Saturday of every month in the community room at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

Individuals struggling with anorexia, bulimia, overeating and/or chronic dieting are welcome, as are family members and friends. The group is free of charge and open to the public.
