New Egypt Soccer Club is holding try outs for all travel teams for the fall season. Age groups for boys teams are from 8-13 years. Age groups for girls teams are from 8-11 years. New Egypt High School football is proud to announce the following student-athletes college choices. Andrew Weingart, a defensive back/kicker/punter, will attend Gettysburg College Greg Sonday, the team’s talented quarterback, will attend Salisbury University. And Alfonso Ramos, a linebacker, and Justin Conklin, an offensive lineman, will attend Wesley College in Delaware.
Gymnasts from the Wilton Academy of Gymnastics competed at Harford Trophy Meet held at Harford Gymnastics, Joppa, Md., on April 9. In Level 4 action, Karlee Makely took third on the bars (9.25), fourth on the beam (9.1), 11th on the vault (9.0) and 12th on the bars (8.6) en route to a sixth-place finish in the all-around (35.95). Sarah Kowalski took sixth in the bars (8.7) en route to a 32.85 all-around (AA) score. Ashley Goddard took 11th on the bars (8.5) and scored 31.60 in the AA. Madeline Anasiewicz was seventh on the bars (9.1) and 14th on the floor (8.75), while scoring 34.15 in the AA. Karlee Long was 13th on the beam (8.55) and scored 33.30 in the AA.
In Level 5, age 9 action, Shani Weiss took fifth in the AA (36.1), finishing second on the beam (9.5), fourth on the floor (9.1), fifth on the bars (9.05) and 12th on the vault (8.45). Tori Wilton was 12th in the AA, finishing sixth on the floor (9.1) and eighth on the vault (8.6). Aliyah Slocum finished 11th on the vault (8.15) en route to a 33.3 AA score, while Kelsey Baum scored 29.5 in the AA.
In Level 5, age 10 action, Samantha Gormley took third on the vault (8.7), fourth on the bars (8.6) and floor, (9.15) and seventh on the beam (9.1) en route to a fourth-place finish in the AA (35.3).
In Level 5 11 years and up, Elaina Vasile finished first in the AA (37.35), after placing first on the vault (9.15) and beam (9.45), and second on the bars (9.3) and floor (9.45). The Level 5 team won the second-place team award.
