STUDENT LETTERS

Younger athletes need programs, too
To the editor:
Wouldn’t it be great if elementary schools could perform sports at their school? I believe elementary schools should have sports teams.
If elementary schools had sports teams, it would be great because kids could have fitness and exercise. Also, kids would be healthy and have strong bones. The children’s parents would be proud of the school fitness and conditioning.
Another reason why elementary schools should have sports teams is because schools can play each other. The teams can play their friends from other schools. There would be games every Friday and all the students could cheer their team on.
The last reason why elementary schools should have sports teams is because kids can have some fun in school. It is important to have some fun in school because kids will think school is fun instead of thinking its boring. Also, parents would be proud if the kids are practicing their favorite sport at school.
It would be awesome if elementary schools had sports teams. Kids would have so much fun.

iPods could help students learn
To the editor:
Don’t you think that kids should be allowed to bring electronics to school? I believe that kids should be permitted to bring iPods to elementary schools.
Kids should be allowed to bring iPods to school for many reasons.
First, iPods would help to make kids comprehend music better.
Also, the electronic devices would help inspire kids to become popular musicians when they get older. IPods would be helpful during music class because then students would learn about many other artists.
Secondly, students should be permitted to bring iPods to school because if electronic devices are allowed, I bet that kids wouldn’t mind going to school.
Therefore, parents wouldn’t have a fit in the morning with their kids getting up for school.
Another reason why iPods should be accepted in school is if they were allowed, kids wouldn’t have to sneak them to school.
Then, kids wouldn’t get grounded by their parents or they wouldn’t get detention from their principal.
IPods should be permitted in school because if they were accepted, kids wouldn’t have to sneak them to school.
That is why I think kids should be allowed to bring iPods to school.

Educational movies only, please
To the editor:
Why should elementary kids watch non-educational movies?
I believe that teachers should only be allowed to show educational movies in elementary schools.
One reason there should only be appropriate movies in elementary schools is because kids won’t do well in school. Kids would be more focused on what they saw in the movie, and not what they are learning.
Kids will not want to show their parents their grades.
Another reason there should only be appropriate movies in school is because kids won’t tell their parents what they did in school, except the movie. Parents want to know what their child learned in school.
Parents will sometimes call their child’s teacher to see what they did. The most important reason there should only be appropriate movies in school is because kids will get hyper in school. Teachers will get angry and transmit them to the principal.
However, if the kids watched an educational movie they would not be hyper in class.
If kids watch un-educational movies they will be hyper in school. I believe kids should not watch non educational movies for these reasons.

Longer recess healthy for students
To the editor:
Would you like to have more time to play with your friends? I believe kids in elementary schools should have longer recess at school.
Kids should get to play longer at recess! Kids should get to play more because kids could play their games longer with their classmates than they did before.
Also, kids could play longer outside with their friends, too. Another reason is that kids would burn off more energy than they did before, and then kids wouldn’t be hyper when they come in from recess.
Meanwhile, kids would not be bouncing around the classroom after playing outside. Most importantly, kids would have more enjoyment at recess.
Also, kids could finish their games if they had a longer recess. Then kids could talk, play their games, and have more excitement at recess.
Finally, kids should be able to have a longer recess at school. Kids will then have more entertainment until recess is done!
