Thomas J. Nicastro Sr., 68, of Jamesburg, died Monday, April 24, at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in New Brunswick, Mr. Nicastro was a lifelong Jamesburg resident. He was employed for 20 years as manager of Acme Auto Body, Highland Park, retiring in 1997. Mr. Nicastro was a member of the Lakeside Rod and Gun Club, Jamesburg.
He is survived by his son, Thomas J. Jr., and his wife, Judith, of Brick; three daughters, Francine Yamello and her husband, Robert, of West Long Branch, Sherry Tyrell and her husband, John, of Freehold and Michele Nicastro of Freehold; a brother, Carmen of Holly Hill, Fla.; four grandchildren, Thomas J. Nicastro III, John V. Nicastro, Michael Tomas and Jake Tyrell; his companion of 32 years, Leah Beth Craparotta of Jamesburg and her children, James A. Craparotta and his wife, Jeanette, of Charleston, S.C., Joseph J. Craparotta Jr. of Neptune and Lisa Reid of Jamesburg, and her grandchildren, Ashley Reid and Charles Reid Jr.
A private cremation has been arranged by the Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Sunday, April 30, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. only.
