Richard David Richey

   Richard David Richey, 81, of West Windsor died Saturday at the Princeton Care Center, Princeton.
   Born in Lankershim, Calif., he had resided in West Windsor since 1933.
   A graduate of The Metropolitan School of Furniture Finishing where he became a certified, master restorer and refinisher of fine antiques, he was the owner of "The Little Old Mill" located on the Grover’s Mill Pond.
   A Pathfinder parachutist in the 101st Airborne during World War II, he also was in the 94th Troop Carrier Squadron. He received seven Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts, Senior Parachutist Pin, Combat Infantry Badge, Sharp Shooter Badge, Army Good Conduct Metal, Victory Medal World War II and the French Croix de Guerre World War II Medal. He fought in seven battles — Southern France, Normandy Invasion, Rome-Arno, Northern France, Germany, Ardennes and Rhineland.
   A volunteer at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen for many years, he also was a member of American Legion and VFW.
   Predeceased by his parents, Commander and Mrs. Joseph Richey, he is survived by his wife Catherine Mazzella Richey; three children and their spouses, Beverley Richey Toto and husband Albert Jr. of Pennington, Deborah Richey and husband Paul Commito of Pennington and R. David Richey Jr. and wife Peggy Kucharski-Richey of Solebury, Pa.; three grandchildren, Albert Toto III and wife Kathleen of Boston, Mass., Alexander Commito of Pennington and Lauren Richey of Solebury, Pa.; and a sister, Sister Maria Cordis of Georgian Court College in Lakewood.
   Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
   The funeral service and burial will be private.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
