MONTGOMERY The Blawenburg Village Preschool and the Montgomery Township Police Department have teamed up to host a free car seat safety inspection program.
The event will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the historic schoolhouse located on Route 518, near the intersection with The Great Road.
"Each year, thousands of young children are killed or injured in car crashes," said Jean Butcher, an event organizer and parent of a child at the preschool. "You can help prevent this from happening to your child by always using car safety seats and seat belts correctly."
Certified car seat safety technicians will be at the schoolhouse to check car seats for proper installation, fit and correct use.
Also, the Blawenburg Village Preschool will be open for tours and information about its programs, which are offered for children 2½ to 6.
The Blawenburg Village Preschool is grounded in the Christian faith and practice of the Blawenburg Reformed Church, Ms. Butcher said, adding, "We warmly welcome families of all faiths."
