MARLBORO – Employees who are retiring from the K-8 Marlboro School District were recognized at the Board of Education meeting on April 17.
After 35 years with the district, Patricia Delatush is retiring. For most of her tenure she has been a fifth-grade teacher at the Marlboro Elementary School.
According to information provided by the district, Delatush has served as a PTA teacher representative and as the building representative for the Marlboro Township Education Association.
She has been an advocate for the KIND kids program at Marlboro Elementary and has been instrumental in the Famous Scenes in American History display.
Elizabeth Van Deventer is retiring after 37 years as a teacher in the district. She has spent the last 35 years teaching first, second, third and fourth grades at the Marlboro Elementary School.
Van Deventer is known and appreciated by her fourth-grade colleagues as the “bug catcher” and as the resident science education expert, according to district officials.
Her classroom is a minimuseum filled with hands-on scientific artifacts and student projects on display. Van Deventer is known as a great resource for her colleagues and a lifelong learner.
Elsie Marriner has worked as a bus driver in the district since 1985 and has maintained an excellent safe driving and attendance record throughout her tenure, according to administrators.
In addition to her regular routes, Marriner drives late activity runs and mentors new drivers.
According to information provided by the district, Marriner’s smile and easygoing personality have made her a favorite with peers, parents and students.
