‘Shrimp Nite’
   Friday, May 5 — American Legion Post 39 of Roebling will hold Shrimp Nite from 5 to 8 p.m., at the post home, 112 Fourth Ave., Roebling.
   Potato salad, coleslaw, coffee and dessert included for $10. Meatball platters cost $7. Takeout orders will be available.
Open Space planting
   Saturday, May 6 — Help plant 150 tree seedlings as part of the reforestation of this new parkland in Bordentown City. Meet at the corner of Oliver Street and West Chestnut Street at 9 a.m.

Spring Farm Festival
   Saturday, May 6 — A family fun day will be held at Fernbrook Farm Environmental Education Center, 150 Georgetown Road, Bordentown, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
   Gardening talks, cooking demonstrations, a plant sale, hour tours, hay and pony rides, a pig roast, sheep shearing, blacksmith, bluegrass music, nature hikes, crafts, calf roping and more will be featured. Proceeds will benefit the summer camp program. Cost is $15 per car load. Call 298-8282 for details.
Garage sales
   Saturday, May 6 — A neighborhood garage sale to benefit the Relay for Life event will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Laurel Woods subdivision in New Egypt. Sales at several locations around the neighborhood are planned with a rain date of Sunday, May 7.

Light of Hope
   Saturday, May 6 — Light of Hope support group meets the first Saturday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, 42 Chesterfield-Jacobstown Road, Route 528.

Atlantic City trip
   Sunday, May 7 — The Knights of Columbus 570 will sponsor a bus trip to the Showboat Casino. Departure from St. Mary’s Church, Elizabeth Street, Bordentown, at 4:30 p.m. for a 4-hour stay at the casino.

Gift basket auction
   Friday, May 12 — St. Mary’s School of Bordentown will sponsor its annual gift basket auction at Carslake Community Center, Crosswicks Street, Bordentown City.
   Doors open at 6 p.m. with the drawings to begin at 7 p.m. The $6 admission fee includes one sheet of tickets and a door prize ticket. A 50/50 raffle is slated as well as a grand-prize raffle.
   Additional tickets varying in price will also be sold. Food and desserts will be available. No one under 18 admitted.
Plant/flower sale
   Friday, May 12 — Mother’s Day plant sale will be held at the Jacobstown Fire Co. Auxiliary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jacobstown Fire Company, Route 528, Jacobstown. Flowers, hanging baskets and more will be featured.
Project Mom
   Friday to Sunday, May 12-14 — Constance Wilder-Wokoun and Ken Britschge have announced that their original 2-act play, "Project Mom," will be presented at Riverview Studios in Bordentown. Details, directions and ticket information can be found at http://home.comcast.net/projectmom/index.html.
   The show is a celebration of motherhood and will be a unique experience for Mother’s Day weekend.
Youth awards banquet

Thomas Paine Tour
   Saturday, May 13 — The Thomas Paine Society of Bordentown will hold the monthly Thomas Paine Tour of Bordentown. In honor of the Iris Festival, two tours are planned at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.

Iris Festival
   Saturday, May 13 — The 10th annual Iris Festival will be held in the business district of Bordentown City from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

   Saturday, May 13 — The Burlington County Animal Alliance will host a yard sale at 18 Vine Way, Bordentown, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to raise funds for homeless animals.
