A recognition ceremony and reception to celebrate the lifetime achievements of Holocaust survivors who live in Middlesex County will be held from 2-4 p.m. on May 11 at Middlesex County College, Edison. The event is sponsored by the college in conjunction with the New Jersey Commission for Holocaust Education.
Many survivors were children during the Holocaust and were confined to concentration camps at a time when, under normal circumstances, they would have been in school. Liberated from the camps as young adults, many went directly to work. Despite being denied an education, they went on to achieve success in their lives.
