N.B. slates block party, camp-out, 5K, fishing

The North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services is now accepting registration for the Memorial Day 5K scheduled for May 29. Registration will be held at Sabella Park at 7:30 a.m., followed by the walk at 8:30 a.m. and the run at 8:45 a.m.

Registration is also being accepted for the Brunswick Cup, a series of four 5K races in North Brunswick, South Brunswick, East Brunswick and New Brunswick.

The Senior Health & Fitness Walk will be held May 31 at Johnson Park in New Brunswick, with registration deadline May 12. North Brunswick will provide transportation at 9 a.m. from its senior center. T-shirts, visors and lunch will be provided.

Recreation will host a block party for Burdine’s Corner residents May 20 from noon to 2 p.m.

The Community Camp Out will be held June 10, 6:30 p.m., to June 11 at 8 a.m., at Sabella Park.

The Father’s Day fishing derby will be held June 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Boyd Pond on Independence Boulevard.
