MOMS meeting
   Thursday, May 11 — MOMS Club meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Call 324-3849 for location and other details.
   Meet with other stay-at-home or part-time working moms in the community. Open to residents of Roebling, Florence, Bordentown, Fieldsboro and Mansfield. Refreshments are served and children are always welcome.
Seeing Eye Foundation
   Thursday, May 11 — A representative from the Seeing Eye Foundation will speak at Senior Spot at 1:15 p.m. at the New Egypt United Methodist Church, 38 N. Main St., New Egypt. Call Patty Wysong at 758-1801 for details.
Gift basket auction
   Friday, May 12 — St. Mary’s School of Bordentown will sponsor its annual gift basket auction at Carslake Community Center, Crosswicks Street, in Bordentown City.
   Doors open at 6 p.m. with the drawings to begin at 7 p.m. The $6 admission fee includes one sheet of tickets and a door prize ticket. A 50/50 raffle is slated as well as a grand-prize raffle.
   Additional tickets varying in price will also be sold. Food and desserts will be available. No one under 18 will be admitted.
Plant/flower sale
   Friday, May 12 — Mother’s Day plant sale will be held at the Jacobstown Fire Co. Auxiliary from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jacobstown Fire Company, Route 528, Jacobstown. Flowers, hanging baskets and more will be featured.
‘Oklahoma!’
   Friday and Saturday, May 12-13 — Florence Township Middle School will present the musical "Oklahoma" at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, 500 E. Front St., Florence.
   There is no cost, although donations will be accepted to benefit local charities.
‘Project Mom’
   Friday to Sunday, May 12-14 — Constance Wilder-Wokoun and Ken Britschge have announced that their original 2-act play, "Project Mom," will be presented at Riverview Studios in Bordentown. Details, directions and ticket information can be found at http://home.comcast.net/projectmom/index.html.
   The show is a celebration of motherhood and will be a unique experience for Mother’s Day weekend.
Youth awards banquet
   Saturday, May 13 — Shiloh Baptist Church will hold its Youth Achievement Awards Banquet at the church, 104 ½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown, at 6 p.m. Donation of $12 per person. Call 298-0574 for details.
Thomas Paine Tour
   Saturday, May 13 — The Thomas Paine Society of Bordentown will hold the monthly Thomas Paine Tour of Bordentown. In honor of the Iris Festival, two tours are planned at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
   The tours are free (tax-deductible donations are appreciated) and wheelchair accessible. The tour will commence at the Old Book Shop, 200 Farnsworth Ave. Call 324-9909 for details.
Iris Festival
   Saturday, May 13 — The 10th annual Iris Festival will be held in the business district of Bordentown City from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
   The Franklin Carr Memorial Iris Growers’ Competition will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, Farnsworth Avenue. Call Jackie at 298-8066 for details.
   Fine artists will gather on the sidewalks, offering visitors a chance to meet internationally known artists such as Hanneke de Neve, Michael Budder and more.

Storm drain labeling
   Saturday, May 13 — Volunteers are needed to help install new storm drain markers across Bordentown City. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you wish to participate.
   The effort is sponsored by the Bordentown City Environmental Commission (www.bcec.us).
Yard sale
   Saturday, May 13 — The Burlington County Animal Alliance will host a yard sale at 18 Vine Way, Bordentown, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to raise funds for homeless animals.
Mother’s Day breakfast
   Sunday, May 14 — Bordentown Elks Lodge, 11 Amboy Road, Bordentown, will sponsor a Mother’s Day breakfast in the upper ballroom from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Call 298-5492 for details.
Golf tourney
   Monday, May 15 — The Chesterfield Public Education Fund will sponsor its 10th annual golf tournament at the Olde York Country Club at noon with a shotgun tee-off.
   The entry fee is $150 per golfer including greens fees, cart, boxed lunch and a dinner reception. Awards will be presented and an auction will be held after the dinner reception. The featured auction item is a membership to Olde York Country Club. Non-golfers can participate in the dinner and auction for $45.
   The organization is also accepting donations for the live auction. All proceeds will benefit the students of the Chesterfield Elementary School. To register or participate, call Lynn Peterson-Quinn at 324-0696.
Spring revival
   Beginning Monday, May 15 — Shiloh Baptist Church, 104 ½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown, will hold its Spring Revival through Friday, May 19 at 7 p.m. each night. A guest pastor and church will be featured each evening. The public is invited.
Band fundraiser
   Tuesday, May 16 — The Florence High School Band Boosters will hold a fundraiser at Burger King on Route 130 in Florence between 5 and 9 p.m.
   Mention the Band Boosters and 10 percent of total sales for the evening will be donated to the band. Call Debbie Burke at 499-2303 for details.
Spring concert
   Wednesday, May 17 — The Clara Barton Elementary School in Bordentown will present a spring concert titled "Music Through the Years" at 7 p.m. The program is a celebration of music from the 1920s through the 1990s.

Scrapbook workshop
   Friday, May 19 — Holy Cross Lutheran Church will host a scrapbooking workshop from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. There is a cost. Contact Kristin Murray at 291-8234 with questions and to register.
Tot Shabbat
   Friday, May 19 — Tot Shabbat service is offered monthly at Temple B’Nai Abraham, 58 Crosswicks St., Bordentown, and is open to all children, ages 1 to 6, and their families. Potluck dinner, child-friendly Shabbat service, story and craft from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to celebrate Lag B’Omer.

Beef and Beer
   Friday, May 19 — The Beef and Beer fundraiser for the Lady Flashes will be held at 7 p.m. at Wesley’s Pub, 1500 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Tickets cost $20 and may be purchased at Wesley’s or by calling 499-3023.
Trash or Treasure
   Beginning Friday, May 19 — Trinity United Methodist Church will hold the monthly sale Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the street fair. The church is located at 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Street Fair news
   Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21 — Due to the 29th annual Street Fair in Bordentown, some parking restrictions are planned.
   There will be no parking on Farnsworth Avenue from Park Street to Federal Street; on Walnut Street from Farnsworth Avenue to Prince Street; and on Crosswicks Street to Betty Ann’s Lot and Bordentown Auto.
Great Books
   Monday, May 22 — The group will start a new anthology, "Great Conversations I," with a discussion of "Epic of Gilgamesh" at 7:30 p.m. at the Bohemian Bookworm, 4 West Park St., Bordentown.
   "Prometheus Bound" will be discussed June 12; "Of Friendship and Of Solitude" will be discussed June 26 and "Pensees" will be discussed July 10.
