It’s that time of year again to plant downtown Freehold. Every year, Bill Mehr and George Taylor spearhead this project with the assistance of many volunteers. With a volunteer force, we are able to keep the labor cost down for such a large project and give the community ownership in being a part of beautifying Freehold. (This is truly a situation where many hands make less work!)
To participate, just bring a small trowel and a pair of gardening gloves to the parking lot between Sun Bank and the Monmouth County Hall of Records Annex at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 20.
If you already have plans for part of that day, we will certainly welcome a few hours of your time anywhere throughout that morning. (Just look for anyone planting throughout the downtown, and they will be glad to get you started).
If you are interested in joining us, please contact me at (732) 462-3584 or e-mail [email protected]. Looking forward to working with you!
