Man charged in faking drug test

EDISON – The cold urine tipped them off.

State parole officers transported Jammie Skazenski, 31, Ellmyer Road, to the Edison Police Department at 4 a.m. on May 10. He was charged with defrauding the administration of a drug test and possession of a device to defraud a drug test, after Skazenski allegedly attempted to fool parole officers by providing the officer with a false urine sample, Sgt. Robert Dudash said.

“Apparently the state parole board officer responded to obtain a urine sample as part of his parole responsibilities,” he said. “He has to provide these samples in an effort to remain drug-free.”

Whether Skazenski was drug-free or not during the administration of the test was unclear, as Dudash said the parolee attempted to defraud the test “by utilizing a false penis device containing urine, apparently not his own.”

The most commonly known brand of false penis devices, called The Whizzinator, promise an “easy to conceal, easy to use urinating device with a very realistic prosthetic penis,” that is “designed to be comfortably worn as an undergarment for extended periods of time,” according to the brand’s Web site.

Skazenski was observed by state parole board officers using a device such as this, which prompted taking him into the Edison Police Department, Dudash said.

While some of these devices are equipped with heat pads to keep the urine warm, “it appears that it was determined the urine to be cold at the time of the sample being given,” he said. “It may have been old urine. Upon being given the sample, I think the first sign was the fact it was cold.”

Bail for Skazenski was set at $10,000 and he was transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.
