Betty Janowski, 80, died Monday, May 15, at home in Ocean City.
Ms. Janowski was born in Roseburg, Ore., she moved to New Jersey with her husband and lived in South River, where she helped on weekends with the family business, the Liberty Ballroom. They resided in Monroe for almost 50 years.
She was married to her husband, Mitchell Janowski, for 62 years; cherished mother of Sandra Yanklowitz, Deborah Breese, Jill Lawless, Patricia Haraburda and Mitchell Janowski III; and grandmother to 11 devoted grandchildren.
Relatives and friends attended a viewing Thursday, May 18, at Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Ave., Ocean City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 a.m. today (Friday), May 19, at St. Frances Cabrini R.C. Church, 2nd St. and Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City. Following the Mass, graveside services were held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick. Father Stingel from St. James Church, Jamesburg officiated.
