Scrapbook workshop
Friday, May 19 Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Crosswicks Road, Bordentown, will host a scrapbooking workshop from 7:30 p.m. to midnight. There is a cost. Contact Kristin Murray at 291-8234 with questions and to register.
Beef and Beer
Friday, May 19 The Beef and Beer fundraiser for the Lady Flashes will be held at 7 p.m. at Wesley’s Pub, 1500 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Tickets cost $20 and may be purchased at Wesley’s or by calling 499-3023.
Tot Shabbat
Friday, May 19 Tot Shabbat service is offered monthly at Temple B’Nai Abraham, 58 Crosswicks St., Bordentown. Open to all children, ages 1 to 6, and their families. Potluck dinner, child-friendly Shabbat service, story and craft from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to celebrate Lag B’Omer.

Trash or Treasure
Beginning Friday, May 19 The Trinity United Methodist Church will hold the monthly sale Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the street fair. The church is located at 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
Big breakfast
Sunday, May 21 The next all-you-can-eat breakfast at the American Legion Post 39, Fourth Avenue, Roebling, will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The menu will include scrambled eggs, pancakes, home fries, military style beef of toast, bacon, sausage, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. The price for adults is $6, children ages 5 to 12 eat for $4 and kids under 5 eat free.
Street Fair news
Saturday and Sunday, May 20-21 Due to the 29th annual Street Fair in Bordentown, some parking restrictions are planned.
There will be no parking on Farnsworth Avenue from Park Street to Federal Street; on Walnut Street from Farnsworth Avenue to Prince Street; and on Crosswicks Street to Betty Ann’s Lot and Bordentown Auto.
Great Books
Monday, May 22 The group will start a new anthology, "Great Conversations I," with a discussion of "Epic of Gilgamesh" at 7:30 p.m. at the Bohemian Bookworm, 4 West Park St., Bordentown.
"Prometheus Bound" will be discussed June 12; "Of Friendship and Of Solitude" will be discussed June 26 and "Pensees" will be discussed July 10.

Book fair
Thursday, May 25 A book fair will be held in the cafeteria of Bordentown Regional High School, Dunns Mill Road, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Barnes and Noble will provide a wide range of titles including children’s books, young adult and adult fiction and nonfiction, best-sellers and bargain books. Proceeds will benefit the library in the new high school slated to open in September.
Memorial Day service
Monday, May 29 A community Memorial Day service will be held in Jobstown Veterans Park, located behind Springfield Township Municipal building. The event will be held at 10 a.m. and will last approximately one hour.
Local military, historical and patriotic speakers will be in attendance. In the event of rain, the event will be held in the Springfield Elementary School gymnasium across the street from the municipal building.
Clothing drive
Beginning Friday, June 2 Spring cleaning is under way so if you’re cleaning out your closets and find you have too many clothes, consider helping out the Parent-Teacher-Student Connection with its clothing drive.
All types of clothing are needed new, old and worn clothing will be accepted. Stuffed animals, shoes, drapery, linens, blankets and coats will also be accepted.
Place all your items in a large trash bag and drop off at the Northern Burlington Middle School barn, 180 Mansfield Road East, Columbus. The barn will be open from dawn to dusk Friday through Monday, June 5. The PTSC supports the high school and middle school. Call Deb Pribell at 298-9125 for details.
Blood drive
Tuesday, June 6 St. Mary’s School in Bordentown City will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Church Rectory on the second floor in the parish center.

Tot Shabbat
Friday, June 9 Tot Shabbat service offered monthly at Temple B’Nai Abraham of Bordentown (58 Crosswicks, www.bnai-abraham.org).
Open to all children, ages 1-6 and their families. Come for candle lighting, potluck dinner, child-friendly service, story and craft from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and Shavuot celebrations.

Golf outing
Monday, June 12 The Bordentown Regional School District Education Foundation will sponsor its first golf outing at Cranbury Golf Course at noon. The format will be a shotgun/scramble.
Entry fee per golfer is $125 and will include greens fee, cart, lunch and a dinner/awards reception. A gift raffle and live auction will also be held after dinner featuring signed sports memorabilia. Non-golfers are welcome to participate in the dinner reception which is $40 per person.
The event also has several opportunities for sponsorship: event, lunch, beverage cart and hole signs. Donated items for the raffle are also needed.

Theater workshop
Beginning Monday, June 26 Rising Stars Voice Studio of Bordentown for young children and teens will hold a summer musical theater workshop in Bordentown on Monday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 28.
Students will have a chance to improve their singing, acting and dancing talents. Children will also receive four private voice lessons with owner and professional opera singer Sophie Taillefer. Vignettes from Broadway musicals such as "Annie," "Les Miserables" and "The Phantom of the Opera" will be taught ad performed. The final concerts will be held Sept. 8-9.
