Marie E. (Young) MacPherson, 90, died Friday, May 12, at University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Jamesburg for more than 50 years. She was a longtime member of St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg, where she also served as a eucharistic minister.
She was an avid reader and member of Roundabout Book Club of Jamesburg. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of Jamesburg Public Library for several years. Ms. MacPherson also enjoyed playing bridge and painting china.
Her husband, Thomas G., died in 1976. She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Judith M. and John Schumacher of Chicago.; two sons, Douglas of South Amboy and Gary A. and his wife, Charlotte, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Kelly MacPherson Staat.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 17, at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, 205 Rhode Hall Road, Monroe. A funeral liturgy was celebrated Wednesday, May 17, at St. James R.C. Church, Jamesburg.
