George M. Donahue Sr., 88, formerly of Hopewell, died Friday after a lengthy illness at his home in Tullytown, Pa.
Born in Flemington, Mr. Donahue resided in Hopewell for many years before moving to Tullytown 31 years ago. Until his retirement in 1978 as a machinist-foreman, he was employed with Rockwell Manufacturing Co. in Hopewell for 35 years. He then worked for U.S. Magnate in Yardley, Pa., for five years.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 112 M+G Amwell Lodge in Lambertville for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Clara Donahue (nee Johnson); children, Carrie Ann Hewitt and her husband Jesse of Barnegat, Joan Lee Wiley of Yardley, Pa., and George M. Donahue Jr. of Tullytown, Pa.; a sister Sally Peterson of Whiting, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pa., where a funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
Interment is private.
