   The equine-oriented events in Central New Jersey extend to the visual arts, when the New Jersey Equine Artists Association presents the Art of the Horse at the Somerset Art Association’s Johnson Gallery in Bedminster through June 24.
   The group’s third national juried and eighth annual show will kick off with an artist’s reception June 4.
   The NJEAA’s Art of the Horse has been a hit with viewers, whether they are horse lovers or not. Visitors get a glimpse into the wide diversity of styles and interpretations flowing from the creative minds of artists who find inspiration in their favorite subject — the horse.
   The American Association of Equine Artists is a nonprofit group, founded in 1980 by notable equine artists such as Jean Bowman, Marilyn Newmark and Richard Stone Reeves. The NJEAA was founded in 1999 and promotes equine art and artists throughout New Jersey. The group exhibits fine painting and sculpture depicting the horse in its many forms and occupations, as well as activities and relationships the horse has had with man throughout history.
