Leonard Travagline Sr.

   Leonard "Butch" Travagline Sr., 82, of Hamilton Township, died Monday at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton.
   Born and raised in West Trenton, he later moved to a farm in Hopewell Township.
   A World War II veteran, he served with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the West Trenton Elks 105 and the Heavy and General Laborers Union Local 172.
   Over the years, Mr. Travagline raised various animals on his farm and was recently a caregiver to four Alpacas. He also was an avid hunter.
   In addition to farming, he worked most of his life for the William Courtney and Sons Construction Company and the Thompson Construction Company, both located in Trenton. He was a blasting expert and rebuilt many of the area’s bridges and railways.
   Predeceased by his parents Fred and Maria Travagline, his first wife, Sophie Loyts Travagline, and siblings Gene, Joe and Jennifer, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy Melio Travagline; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard Jr. and Maureen Travagline of Newtown, Pa., and Bob and Cathy Travagline of Titusville; five grandchildren, Tracy, Cheryl, Bradley, Jennifer and Kristen; a stepson and his wife, Anthony and Anna May Melio of Bucks County; three step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, Pennington Circle, with the pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, Hopewell, officiating.
   Burial will be in the Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing.
   Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
