University of Maryland sophomore Earl Gray placed fourth in the 200 meters at the ECAC/IC4A Championships held at Princeton University. Gray posted a 21.58 in earning All-East recognition.

As a freshman, Gray was a member of the Maryland 4×100 relay team that won the IC4A championship (40.60).

Next up for Gray are the NCAA East Regional Championships this weekend in Greensboro, N.C.

Gray is a graduate of Marlboro High School, where he was one of the most decorated track and field athletes in Freehold Regional District history, excelling in the 100, 200, 400 meters. He holds the District record for the 200 (21.77) and 400 (48.31).

The Manalapan Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for the Summer Youth Basketball Program for resident children finishing grades four through 12 this summer. The program will take place on the Manalapan Recreation Center’s basketball courts on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings from 6:30-10:30 p.m. The program begins the week of June 25 and run through Aug. 10.

The fee is $30 for each child with the third child in a family $15. Registrations will not be accepted after June 16. Registrations will be accepted at the Parks and Recreation Office, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Children who have never participated in the program before must bring a copy of their birth certificate to register. The Manalapan Eclipse U14 girls MOSA travel soccer team will hold tryouts on June 10 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Clark Mills/Milford Brook school for the fall season (U15 in the fall).
