Rose Ficarra, 87, of Kendall Park, died Wednesday, May 17, At the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Jersey City, she resided in Kendall Park for the last 25 years. She was a member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Kendall Park. She enjoyed puzzle books and her great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Theodore Ficarra, is deceased. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Theodore and Sandi Ficarra of Kendall Park, and Salvatore and Linda Ficarra of Neptune City; two daughters, Sophie Merunka of Kendall Park and Dolores Murray of Bennington, Vt.; a sister, Theresa Iorio of Monroe; two brothers, Frank Scozzafava of Lyndhurst and Fred Scozzafava of Jersey City; seven grandchildren, Bobby and his wife, Joanne Merunka, Kevin and his wife, Brandie Merunka, Lisa and her husband, Steve Ryan, Vincent Ficarra, Stacey Ficarra, Leeann Ficarra and Peter Ficarra; three great-grandchildren, Steven, Kayla and Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held at Monday, May 22, at M.J. Murphy Funeral Home, 616 Ridge Road at New Road, Monmouth Junction, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park. Calling hours were at the funeral home. Burial was in Forest Green Park Cemetery in Morganville.
