Sophie Ulikowski
Mrs. Ulikowski, 84, of Jackson, died May 26 at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Freehold for most of her life before moving to Jackson 17 years ago. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Ulikowski was employed by the Brockway Glass Co., Freehold Township. She was predeceased in 1992 by her husband, Thomas Paul Ulikowski Sr. Surviving are four sons, Stanley Ulikowski, Thomas Paul Ulikowski Jr. of Cookstown, Frank Ulikowski of Barnegat and Dennis Ulikowski of Freehold; two daughters, Dolores Trotter of Keansburg and Julie Globis of Dresden, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 19 Schoolhouse Road, Somerset 08873.
William L. Reilly
Mr. Reilly, of Ocean Township, died May 24 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township. Born in County Monaghan, Ireland, he had lived in Freehold before moving to Ocean Township in 1998. Mr. Reilly was chief carpenter at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City, where he was employed from 1955 until his retirement in 1996. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, West End, a former communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, and a member of Freehold Council No. 1672 Knights of Columbus. Mr. Reilly is survived by his wife, Frances McCarron Reilly; a son, Brian Reilly of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three daughters, Julie Reilly of Wrightstown, Frances Reilly-Jacobus of Cream Ridge, and Patricia Bodnar of Heidelberg, Germany; and six grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be celebrated in July. Memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 740 Broad St., Shrewsbury 07702. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements.
Dorothy M. Lukowicz
Mrs. Lukowicz, of Millstone, died May 29 at home. Raised in Millstone, she had resided in Ewing for nine years before moving back to Millstone in 1965. Mrs. Lukowicz was secretary from 1972 to 2006 at the rectory of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown, where she and her husband, Albert C. Lukowicz, were married on May 26, 1956. A 1952 graduate of Allentown High School, she was secretary to the accountant at Hibbert Printing, Trenton, from 1952 to 1958. Mrs. Lukowicz served as secretary to the Millstone Township Zoning Board of Adjustment, the Monmouth County Board of Elections, and the Millstone Township Democratic Committee. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Vincent Wasesky; and four sisters, Lottie Cuomo, Irene Mount, Josephine Chiusano and Jean Rapant. Mrs. Lukowicz is survived by her husband of 50 years, Albert; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathleen Mozgai of Edison, and Lisa and Leonard Maxfield of Freehold; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Rita Lukowicz of Yardville, and Ron and Susan Lukowicz of East Brunswick; a brother, Stephen Lazewski of Manalapan; two brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, John and Agnes Lukowicz of Manchester Township, Adolph and Jean Lukowicz of Hamilton Township, and Pauline Lukowicz of Trenton; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Visiting will be held Thursday, June 1, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Main Street, Englishtown, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
