Farewell dinner for rabbi slated for June 8

Congregation B’nai Tikvah, 1001 Finnegan’s Lane, North Brunswick, will hold a farewell dinner for Rabbi David M. Eligberg and his family June 8, with a cocktail hour from 7-8 p.m., and dinner at 8 p.m.

The rabbi and his family are leaving the temple after 11 years. Cost for the catered event is $59, and reservations are required. For information or to R.S.V.P., send an e-mail to Membership@BnaiTikvah.org.

Alissa Platz, a Tikvah student preparing for her b’nei mitzvah, has begun “Handmade for the Homeless” to distribute hand-knit scarves to homeless shelters for next winter. Individuals who knit, crochet, or sew may take part in the effort, and completed items brought to the temple.

Health screenings will be conducted June 14 all day. There is a fee and appointments are required. For more information call (800) 636-0418.
