CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township, announced that seven of its programs are listed in the New Jersey Hospital Association directory of 160 of the top community outreach programs.
The directory, “Beyond Hospital Walls: Highlights of N.J. Hospitals’ Community Outreach Programs, 2000-2005,” is published by the Health Research and Educa-tional Trust of New Jersey, a nonprofit affiliate of NJHA.
The directory cites the following CentraState programs that “emphasize prevention and minimize illness.”
The Health Awareness Center serves more than 30,000 adults annually with 200 fitness classes, health education and screening services. The center is on Gibson Place and operates a satellite office at Freehold Raceway Mall, both in Freehold Township.
The Health Awareness Center’s Mobile Wellness Van reaches more than 4,000 people each year. CentraState, Lions Clubs International and the CentraState Healthcare Foundation purchased a new $70,000 van in 2003.
REAP (reach, empower, assessment, prevention) addresses health concerns of minorities, seniors and low-income residents through a variety of free services at off-site venues and community events.
The violence prevention program helps young people deal with anger management, conflict resolution, bullying, stress and violence.
The Share and Support Project is a Web-based disease-management model for patients with congestive heart failure and diabetes to learn to take personal responsibility for self-care and preventive measures after they are discharged from the hospital. The project is a joint effort of CentraState, the Visiting Nurse Associ-ation of Central Jersey and the Mon-mouth County Office on Aging.

SeniorsFirst assists those age 60 and older to adopt healthy lifestyles through education and preventive care initiatives, including health screenings and information, lectures, referral resources and socialization. The program has more than 12,000 members.
Andrew Harris of Colts Neck will receive the Distinguished Insurance Service award from the Professional Insurance Agents of New Jersey Inc., to be presented at the association’s annual conference in Atlantic City, June 11-13.
The award recognizes an individual who has established a history of service, dedicated leadership and attention to the concerns of independent agents and their clients.

Larry Weinbaum of Manalapan, a personal financial professional, has qualified for membership in Allstate New Jersey Insurance Co.’s 2006 Million Dollar Round Table. Weinbaum works with Stormie Polhemus of Toms River, an exclusive agent with Allstate New Jersey. Weinbaum’s office is in Manalapan.

CentraState Medical Center, Free-hold Township, announced that it has been approved as a certified agency partner of United Way of Monmouth County.
Eligibility criteria for United Way certification include effectively, efficiently and ethically providing needed health and human services to Monmouth County residents; undergoing an annual review meeting applicable auditing standards; maintaining an administrative expense ratio not exceeding 20 percent; and being accountable for operational results. The certification process is open to all qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies providing health and human services to Monmouth County residents, and certification is effective for three years.

Ladies Workout Express’ annual FitTEEN program will be offered again this summer, and the owners of two local centers announced that they will participate in the program, which promotes physical fitness for teenage girls.
Beginning June 1, girls ages 13-19 will be able to sign up to use Ladies Workout Express in Marlboro or Ladies Workout Express in Millstone Township, free of charge, until Sept. 1.
Ladies Workout Express features a 30-minute interval circuit that uses resistance training on hydraulic machines and rest stations.
The Marlboro center is on Route 79 and can be reached at (732) 845-2900. The Millstone center is at 514 Route 33 west in Dugan’s Corner Plaza and can be reached at (732) 446-6252. Although the program is free of charge, a parent or guardian must accompany the teen for initial consent.
