The Jackson Alumni Hall of Fame, a nonprofit organization founded in 1991, is seeking nominees for induction. The induction will take place on Oct. 15.
According to a press release, there are two reasons for the inception of this organization: to honor and recognize those people who have made a significant contribution to the community and to offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have exhibited academic excellence and a commitment to their community.
Nomination applications are available from any member of the Jackson Alumni Hall of Fame trustees or by calling (732) 833-4605. The trustees for 2006 are Larry St. Laurent and Wally Jamison, co-chairmen, Bob Darton, treasurer, Arleen Polito, secretary, George White, Regina Johnson, Alla Long, Debra Hart, Bob Paneque, Bill Fox, Bernie Reider, Laura Johnson and John Smatusik.
Proceeds from the induction ceremony and the accompanying ad journal will go to support the continuation of these scholarships to future graduating classes of Jackson Memorial High School.
