PLUMSTED – The Plumsted Town-ship Council for the Arts has announced that the first event in the 2006 Summer Concerts Series will be held July 1 at the New Egypt High School athletic fields on Evergreen Road.
The Annual Rockin’ Fireworks Concert and Arts Festival will take place beginning at noon. (If it rains, the concert will be held in the school’s auditorium, with seating first come, first served). A donation of $1 per person will be accepted at the gate.
The festival will include artists, vendors, games, attractions, pony rides and hay rides. Artist and exhibitor spaces are available to professionals and amateurs. Musicians, creative writers and performing artists may exhibit their talents as well. Food, drinks, novelties and balloons will be available for purchase. Many local businesses and organizations will be in attendance.
The shows will begin at 6 p.m. with Easily Amuzed performing classic rock, followed by John Cantamessa & Company.
After that, Billy Hector and his Power Blues will perform. Hector, who is the recipient of the Asbury Park Press Living Legend award and was recently named a New Jersey Art Treasure, has been featured at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
Hector will be followed by the featured act of the evening, The Duprees, who will perform their many hits, which include “You Belong to Me,” “My Own True Love,” “Have You Heard,” and many more. Fireworks will begin after the concert.
