Isaiah Harris, 61, of Monmouth Junction, died Friday, June 9, at his home.
He was a retiree of Verizon in New York City, where he worked as an installer for many years before retiring in 1994.
Mr. Harris was born on May 15, 1945, in Richmond, Va., the second oldest of four children to the late Carrie Harris.
His wife, Vivicea Harris, died in 2001. His brothers, Ikey and Earl Harris, also are deceased. He is survived by his brother, Anthony Harris Sr. and his wife, Yolanda, of Texas; and a nephew, Anthony Harris Jr.
Private funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, under the direction of Highland Park Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 75 Woodbridge Ave., Highland Park.
