Pet Expo 2006, the kickoff event for the South River Public Library’s summer programs, is set for 10:30 a.m. on June 30 at Sheldon-Sheinfeine Park, Leonardine Avenue. All residents are invited to bring their friendly, tame and domesticated pets to show. Owner must accompany the pet at all times. Participants must register in advance by June 23 by speaking to Dawn at the library or by sending the owner’s name, age and phone number, type of animal, and pet’s name and age to [email protected].
The library, 55 Appleby Ave., also is sponsoring a Wildlife Photo Fest for youngsters through July 1 to prepare for its upcoming summer reading club, “Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales.” Photos, which should have the photographer’s name and contact information on the back, will be returned to owners at the end of the summer. Tips for capturing the perfect shot may be found at www.acnatsci.org/kids/phototips.
