Delaware & Raritan (D&R) Canal State Park will hold a nature and history walk July 8 at 10 a.m.
The round-trip 2 1/2-mile walk will begin at the park’s main office at 145 Mapleton Road, Kingston section of South Brunswick, and will follow the canal towpath to the Kingston canal house and Carnegie Lake before turning back. A park historian and naturalist will lead the free walk. Preregistration is required.
A 19th-century ice cream social will be July 22 at 1 p.m. at the Kingston office. Attendees will churn ice cream, play a few historic games and learn how ice cream is made. The program is free, and advance registration is required.
