Lois Jean Levin
Mrs. Levin, 59, of Howell, died May 26 at home after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Long Branch and had lived in Freehold before moving to Howell in 1974. Mrs. Levin was a social work supervisor for the Monmouth County Division of Social Services, Freehold Township, where she was employed for 28 years before her retirement in February. She was a graduate of Freehold High School, class of 1965, attended the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Conn., and earned a bachelor of arts degree from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey), Ewing. She was an active member of Congregation Ahavat Achim, Howell, where she served on the board of directors and executive board, was a director of Kiddush and youth group director, and was a past president of the Sisterhood. She also worked with the homeless in Monmouth County and at The Pantry, shelters, senior centers, her synagogue, and youth groups. Mrs. Levin was predeceased by her parents, Jerome Sidney and Ethel Fisher Fox, and a brother, Franklin Jacob Fox, who died in 1946. She is survived by her husband, Stewart Levin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard A. and Karen Levin, and Neal A. and Tina Levin, all of Howell; a brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Kim Fox of Howell; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judi and Joe Applegate-Zager of Camden, Del., and Marcia and Hal Rifkin of Manalapan. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge. Sophie Ulikowski
Mrs. Ulikowski, 84, of Jackson, died May 26 at The Manor Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, she had lived in Freehold for most of her life before moving to Jackson 17 years ago. Prior to retiring, Mrs. Ulikowski was employed by the Brockway Glass Co., Freehold Township. She was predeceased in 1992 by her husband, Thomas Paul Ulikowski Sr. Surviving are four sons, Stanley Ulikowski, Thomas Paul Ulikowski Jr. of Cookstown, Frank Ulikowski of Barnegat and Dennis Ulikowski of Freehold; two daughters, Dolores Trotter of Keansburg and Julie Globis of Dresden, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Tom J. Pieszchala
Mr. Pieszchala, 50, of Howell, died May 27 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Staten Island, N.Y., he had lived there and in Woodbridge before moving to Howell in 1986. Mr. Pieszchala was a driver for Conway Motors, Lakewood, and had previously been a driver for Royal Foods, Avenel. He was a volunteer for the Howell United Soccer Club. He was predeceased by his mother, Janet D. Pieszchala; his father-in-law, George Dunkelberger; and a brother-in-law, George Dunkelberger. Mr. Pieszchala is survived by his wife of 25 years, Debbie; a son, Neil, and a daughter, Megan, both at home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janice Shand of Darien, Conn., and Daniel and MaryAnn Pieszchala of Hamilton; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Dunkelberger of Fords; a sister-in-law, MaryBeth Dunkelberger of Stewartsville, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the First Presbyterian Church, Belmar, under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township. Interment was private.
