Theresa M. Tiedemann
Mrs. Tiedemann, 92, of Milltown, died June 2 at Francis E. Parker Nursing Home, New Brunswick. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in Milltown most of her life. She was employed in the mail room at Johnson & Johnson, North Brunswick, several years ago. She was a member of St. Paul’s Church, Milltown. She was a member of Milltown Senior Citizens Club. She was predeceased by her husband, George Tiedemann in 1961; and a son, George in 1952. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Kathy Tiedemann of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick; two grandchildren; and a niece. Visitation will be June 23 from 7-9 p.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown. A funeral service will be June 24 at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick.
Agnes J. Antonides Glanfield
Mrs.. Glanfield, 89, of North Brunswick, died June 15 at McCarrick Care Center, Somerset. Born in Raritan Township, she resided in Edison, and Milltown, prior to moving to North Brunswick in 1998. She was a supervisor at Gulton Industries, Metuchen, for 12 yes. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick, and a former member of its Golden Age Club. She was a member of the North Brunswick Seniors Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Glanfield in 1987; a brother, Albert Antonides; a sister, Marion Smith; and a son-in-law, Angelo J. Sansone. She is survived by a daughter, Agnes Claire Sansone of North Brunswick; two sisters, Margaret Seroka of Ledgewood, and Madelaine Claire Raychel of Edison; a brother, Francis “Sonny” Antonides of Sayreville; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Arrangements were by Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick.
Benjamin S. Konopacki
Mr. Konopacki, 83, of South River, died June 4 in Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. From 1954-1991 he was employed in various capacities with Pulawski Savings and Loan Association, South River, which became Pulse Savings Bank. He was named the bank’s president and chief executive officer (CEO) in 1965, serving as president until 1989, when he became chairman of the board. He retired as CEO in 1991 but remained as chairman of the board until 1998. Surviving are his wife, Helen Indyk Konopacki; five children, Judith Dolman of Fort Bragg, Calif., Dr. Dennis Konopacki of Italy, Thomas Konopacki and Benjamin Konopacki Jr., both of Monroe, and Carol Makris of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother, Chester Konopacki of Edison; two sisters, Blanche Seminara of East Brunswick and Estelle Zavotsky of South River; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Anthony J. Spitaleri II
Mr. Spitaleri, 78, of North Plainfield, formerly of South River, died May 25 in Haven Hospice at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center, Plainfield. Prior to his retirement 20 years ago, he was the owner and operator of Spitaleri Furniture, South River, where he worked for 46 years. He was a former member of the South River Planning Board. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony J. “Skeeter” and Jill Ann Spitaleri of Edison; a daughter, Estella Spitaleri of Somerville; a sister, Carmela Gendlek of South River; four grandchildren; and his companion, Angelina Scapiliati of North Plainfield. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Interment was in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge.
Ellen Laukus Karmazin
Mrs. Karmazin, 78, of East Brunswick, died June 8 in Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge. Her husband, John Karmazin, died in 2005. Surviving are a son, John Karmazin of Claremont, Okla.; three daughters, Paula Shoemaker of the Toms River section of Dover, Andrea Henry of Pooler, Ga., and Lisa Noble of South Amboy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy.
Carlos dos Santos Mourao
Mr. Mourao, 80, of Sayreville, formerly of South River, died June 2 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by Quigley Co., Old Bridge. Surviving are his wife, Belmira Pimentel; a son, Carlos Santos of North Brunswick; two daughters, Jorgelina Abreu and Alda Pires, both of Sayreville; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A Mass was offered at St. Stanislaus Church, Sayreville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Domenica Fruciano Pantano
Mrs. Pantano, 85, of Jamesburg, died June 15 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Salvatore Pantano, died in 1994. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Giorgio of East Brunswick; two sons, Phillip of Massapequa, N.Y., and Robert of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. James Church, Jamesburg. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Adam Platukis
Mr. Platukis, 83, of South River, died May 31 in Veterans Administration New Jersey Health Care System, Lyons section of Bernards. His wife, Sophia Tomala Motel Platukis, died in 2001, and a stepson, Theodore Motel, died in 1999. Surviving are two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass was offered at St. Mary of Ostrabrama Church, South River. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Hazelton, Pa.
Robert Quinn
Robert Quinn, 45, of Spotswood, died June 1 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy division. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Edith Dart Quinn. Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Quinn of Sayreville; and two nieces, Caitlin and Kristen Quinn. A Mass was offered at Our Lady of Victories Church, Sayreville. Interment was in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
Dorothy E. Bouthillette
Mrs. Bouthillette, 71, of Portsmouth, R.I., formerly of Sayreville, died May 21 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, Mass. Her husband, Arthur Bouthillette, died in 1992. Surviving are five sons, John of East Brunswick, Robert of South Amboy, Glenn of Jackson, William of Middletown and Thomas of Gilbertsville, Pa.; a daughter, Jennifer Baker of South River; three sisters, Carol Ward of Attleboro, Madelyn Young of Plainville, Mass., and Charlotte Richards of Portsmouth; a brother, William Connors of Riverside, R.I.; 16 grandchildren; and her fianc, William Bains of Portsmouth. Services were held at St. Joseph’s Church, Attleboro. Interment was in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, R.I.
Melvyn H. Moss
Mr. Moss, 70, of East Brunswick, died June 16 at home. He was a principal for many years with Broadway Loan and Co., Long Branch. Surviving are his wife, Felice Snow-Moss; four children, Suri Greenberg of Long Branch, David Moss of Highland Park, Zahava Weiss of Baltimore and Josh Moss of New York City; two stepsons, Brian Snow of East Brunswick and Heath Snow of Old Bridge; a sister, Marcy Ansell of Long Branch; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A service was held at Jewish Memorial Chapel, Clifton. Interment was in King Solomon Cemetery, also Clifton. Mr. Generelli, 77, of East Brunswick, died May 25 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
