SAYREVILLE – Four physicians from Raritan Bay Medical Center recently opened a medical office on Route 35 in the borough.
The hospital, which has divisions in Old Bridge and Perth Amboy, celebrated the opening of Bay Obstetrics and Gynecology with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception last Thursday. The practice is the second office that the physician partners of Bay Obstetrics and Gynecology have opened in Middlesex County; the other is located in Fords.
Bay Obstetrics and Gynecology is made up of four Raritan Bay Medical Center attending physicians – Eumena Divino, Steven Goldberg, Steven Berkman and Shola Shonowo, all of whom are board certified. Their partnership represents an expansion of Divino’s 27-year-old practice. Divino was the first practicing female physician in obstetrics and gynecology at Raritan Bay Medical Center 30 years ago. She gained expertise through her fellowship in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and by caring for countless patients.
Berkman joined the medical center in 2005 after more than 30 years in private practice in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bergen County. His specialty care interest is in obstetric ultrasound.
Goldberg led Brunswick Hills Ob/Gyn in East Brunswick for 18 years before going to Raritan Bay Medical Center in 2005.
Shonowo relocated to New Jersey in 2005 from Texas, where she most recently practiced.
In addition to building their new practice, all four physicians are on the faculty of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Raritan Bay Medical Center administrative staff and board members, local politicians, office staff and the Bay practice physicians were on hand for last week’s celebration at the office, located at 2045 Route 35 south.
