Staff from the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office will process passport applications during a Passport Day event set for 1-3 p.m. on June 23 at the Spotswood Public Library, 548 Main St.
To apply for a passport, U.S. residents must submit a completed application, proof of U.S. citizenship, two identical passport photos, identification and two checks or money orders for the appropriate fees (cash or credit cards will not be accepted). Fees for adults above age 16 are $67, payable to U.S. Dept. of State, and $30, payable to Middlesex County Clerk.
Normal processing time for each application is six weeks. Applicants may request expedited service for an additional $60 fee.
Passport applications may also be processed at the county clerk’s office in New Brunswick.
