“Apostasy,” by Gino DiIorio, will premiere at New Jersey Repertory Company, 179 Broadway in Long Branch, July 13-Aug. 13. The play is a love story about a successful businesswoman who reaches a crossroads in her life, leading her to question her faith, and she turns to a charismatic evangelist for guidance. The Monmouth County Arts Council, Red Bank, has been selected by Partnership in Philanthropy (PIP) as a runner-up for its 2006 Hon. Thomas H. Kean Partnership in Philanthropy Award. The Kean Award is given each year to a former PIP client to recognize a nonprofit organization’s success in utilizing PIP’s technical assistance to its best advantage and achieving outstanding results in the time since it has completed a consultancy program with PIP.

The Two River Theater Company in Red Bank has been awarded two first-time grants of $5,000 and $10,000 from The Shubert Foundation and the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, respectively, in support of general operating fees for the 2006-07 season. The Shubert Foundation award marks Two River Theater Company’s first such recognition from a foundation that grants nationally. The funds will be used in support of artistic fees during the 2006-07 season. Funding from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation was awarded for the free delivery of theatrical arts education through six programs to economically disadvantaged students and their educators in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex counties during the 2006-07 season.
