Valley National Bank, the wholly owned subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp, has announced the opening of its Woodbridge Branch, located at 540 Rahway Avenue.

The full-service Woodbridge branch is under the management of Nick Gidwani, assistant vice president, who brings more than five years of experience in the banking industry. Sarita Bhalla has been appointed assistant branch manager. Bhalla brings 14 years of banking experience to her position. The Woodbridge branch features a drive-up window, 24-hour ATM, free coin-counting with Valley’s VCoinWorks machine, and extended hours, including Sundays. The branch also features a special area for children where they can draw or color while waiting for their parents.

180, Turning Lives Around Inc., Hazlet, has received a donation of 425 items including toiletries, household goods, blankets, and linens from several middle and high school students in Middlesex and Mercer counties. The donation is for 180’s Safe House program, which provides shelter and assistance to victims of domestic violence.

The students are youth ambassadors representing People To People International, a global organization dedicated to enhancing understanding and friendship through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities.

East Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Metuchen and Woodbridge Chambers, will hold “Club Oasis Summer Blowout Networking” July 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at The Sheraton at Woodbridge Place.
