Giovanni Giuseppe "John" Balestrieri, 67, of Lawrence died Monday.
Born in Barano D’Ischia, Italy, he came to Princeton in 1952, where he lived for many years. In later years, he lived in various homes throughout New Jersey and spent the last part of his life at Lawrenceville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He held many odd jobs, his favorite was caddying at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton.
Son of the late Luigi and Cataldina Balestrieri, brother of the late Dominick Balestrieri of Hamilton and Maria Libralato of Venice, Italy, he is survived by brothers and sister-in-law Ralph Balestrieri of Lawrence and Salvatore and Maria Balestrieri of West Windsor; sisters and brothers-in-law Marianna and Sebastiano L. Balestriere of Princeton, Carmela and Antonio Mangone of West Windsor and Filomena and Richard Mazzella of Hopewell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Princeton.
Calling hours will be 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton.
